Some people think it takes luck to succeed. Others think that it requires the right genetics, education, charisma, or skill set. I think we have all seen people that had great potential but never really seemed to live up to it. They had the degrees; they had the looks; they had the charisma; they had the energy; they had the determination and persistence. So why aren't they (or you...or your business/company) more successful even though they seemingly have all they right ingredients?
Here's the secret: It's all about belief.
I know you may be thinking that there is no way it can be that simple, but it is. You see, if you have belief and nothing else (education, personality, opportunity, etc), you will attract and find a why to get whatever education, charisma, skill set, or team member you may be lacking. If revenue is down, turning it around first starts with a belief inside you and the employees that it can be done and you are the leader to make that happen, and you have the team that can make that happen. It starts with belief. Belief keeps it going. It ends with belief.
Belief is the unseen energy that determines success or failure. You will say things you wouldn't ordinarily say when you believe. You will take action that you wouldn't ordinarily take when you believe. You will do things you wouldn't ordinarily do when you believe. Belief causes men to acknowledge their fears and move forward in spite of them. Belief causes men to see what can be, not dwelling on what is or has been. Belief looks only to the future. Belief doesn't care who you are, where you've been, what your pedigree is, what your home life is/was like, or what advantages or disadvantages you had growing up. Belief is not prejudiced. Belief is available to all, but it must be claimed. It will not seek you out; you must seek it out. Belief is an attitude - a state of being and mind. Our bodies are amazing electrical fields, and belief is the spark, the energy, the electricity from which anything worthwhile initiates. There is magic in belief. Something happens when an organization aligns itself around a single mission and believes that it can be accomplished. The impossible becomes possible. The unattainable becomes attainable. The ordinary becomes extraordinary. Do you believe? No, I want you to answer to yourself - out loud - right now. Do you believe? Do you really believe? The only alternative to belief is hope, and as my friend Rick Page wrote, "Hope is not a Strategy!"
I love you and believe in you!
